RSN was thrilled to be able to organize and host an event in NY with one of Bangladesh’s pioneering women’s rights activists, Ms. Shireen Huq. The event allowed for RSN to help raise awareness and understanding among our NY network about the Rohingya refugee crisis in Bangladesh. Ms. Huq shared how Naripokkho, a women’s rights organization of which she is a founding member, has begun to respond to the Rohingya crisis with gender-sensitive outreach and programming. The Conversation also highlighted how RSN and Naripokkho are working together to help build an advocacy platform for a more long-term, protective legal framework for the roughly 1 million Rohingya refugees in the country.
